The Morning Mash Up was talking off the air about weddings – Nicole just got back from one this past weekend, Rich is getting married in December, and the summer is wedding season. They were talking about all the different wedding traditions and Stan asked Rich if he was going to do “that stupid cake thing” – referring to the tradition of smushing cake in the bride or groom’s face.
Nicole thinks that that’s one of those traditions that most people do. She thinks it’s fun and cute. Stan does NOT agree. He said that if his wife did that to him when they got married, that marriage would have been over and done right then. Getting married is a serious occasion and getting cake smashed in his face is not fun. It’s mean spiritied and he even hates to see other people doing it.
Ryan, Nicole, and Rich think Stan is being slightly ridiculous about it. The cake smashing is actually Ryan’s favorite part of the wedding and Nicole thinks it shows how the couple can be playful with each other. Do you think shoving cake in the bride or grooms face is cute or lame? Would you be pissed if your wife or husband did that to you?

Well, i went to a wedding about a month ago. It was the cutest freakin thing when they looked like they were gona nicely feed the cake to each other then BAM its all over their faces. Personaly i think its funny, and cute. It you cant handle a little cake to the face, to dont wana see you ina fight at Jersey Shoreeee : ) Or even a fight with some 5 year olds. : ) Just sayin

Stan is right on this one. Cake in the face cheapens the occasion.
Let’s not forget, Stan, the cake moment is at the reception (not the wedding) which is a celebration of the wedding. However, the bride took the time to look her best (for him) and to ruin it like that… a bit rude. As a side note: My wedding photographer told me every wedding she went to, where the cake was smashed, the marriage never lasted. I got married, HE smashed the cake, a year later… DIVORCE!
I would absolutely be pissed if my husband did that to me, and he would be if I did it to him. We got married earlier this summer, and we discussed that shoving cake in the face is tacky. I mean, we spent all that money on cake only to have $10-worth shoved in our face? No. Also, the cake was delicious, and we were not going to waste any of it by smashing it so that it was not edible.
Yoo bra I think u shouldn’t shove cake in any1′s face. It’s supposed 2 be a serious occasion not some time to be f*cking around putting cake in your new wife’s face or getting it in ur face I sure don’t want any cake in my face.
I am with you on this stan it is stupit for a couple to show there lack of intellance by putting cake in there faces it is something that i would expect my kids to do not adults i warned my husband about it also
I don’t think id go so far as to get an immediate divorce, but i do think that it is very tacky at what was an elegant service.
