The other day Stan told O&A’s senior producer, E-Rock, that they should start a bromance and be friends. Rich told Stan that was a lame move, but Ryan thought it was fine. It’s really hard as an adult guy to make new friends with other guys. Sure, you make some work friends, but to make the kind of friends that you get together with outside of work and hang out with, it’s hard.
Ryan admitted that it’s not that he doesn’t have friends, but the friends he has are either in serious relationships or have moved away. Either way, he rarely sees them anymore and needs a few new guys that he can just hang out with. Rich says the reason Ryan doesn’t see his friends anymore is because they gone through the next transition of life before Ryan and now Ryan doesn’t have any guys in his life who are at the same stage he is.
How does an adult guy go out and make new friends? How does Ryan start a bromance or two?

Hi, I went through the same sort of thing when we moved from Minnesota to New Jersey 3 years ago.
It sucks because you meet people that are nice…but its hard to find those cool people you “click” with and really enjoy spending time with. I evenetually made two really good friends when I lost my dog and went knocking on doors for over a month handing out posters and talking to people. Those two are actually people I like to hang with.
The other way is that I belong to a gym and enjoy working out…so I meet people there because I hang there a lot so I can keep up my rock-hard body! (lol). But seriously…it’s easier meeting people at places where you are doing something you enjoy. Then you have something in common. I am friends with lots of guys and girls at the gym….they are cool and we all have a good time.
But Ryan should remember that he has to put himself out there and take a chance striking up conversations with people….they don’t usually inititate it…but if I’m standing around and people are talking and there is the right opportunity to jump in the convo….I do it and then intro myself later! It usually works. Besides I am charming….(lol).
If Ryan would like to be my friend he can email me or FB me anytime and I will do my best to help out! I am a good friend and a great listener!
