The Bachelor: A Reflection of Dating In Real Life (In A Short Period of Time)?
Rich was watching The Bachelor the other night and he was amazed at how all these girls who were clearly more of the “designer bags, high fashion, and high heels” type try and convince the bachelor, Jake, that they actually liked outdoorsy things like camping, four wheeling, hiking etc. That’s when Rich came to the realization that women are always auditioning for men.
According to Rich, men are the ones that decide who they’re going to marry by proposing and so women are basically auditioning for them to win that proposal. That’s why they’re always pretending to like things they don’t and are more willing to try something the guys wants to do. Where as guys are pretty much stuck in their ways, and less apt to try things they don’t like, or that women like.
After bringing this point up Nicole was ready to punch Rich in the face. What kind of theory is that?! Women are not “auditioning” and when two people start dating they are always trying to show they’re best side first. They then eventually they both open up to each other. The idea that women are “auditioning” until the day they get married is ridiculous.
Another good point that Stanley T brought up is that in a way, men ultimately make the decisions before marriage. Once a man proposes though, the women gain control. It pretty much starts right away with the wedding planning!
Ultimately, the man is the one that proposes 99% of the time, so he decides if he wants to marry the girl he’s with. With all this said, are women constantly auditioning for men until they get that proposal?
In Relationships Are Women Auditioning For Men Until They Get That Ring?
- Nope. They audition for each other. It's a two way road in the end. (60%)
- Yes, but once that engagement ring is on then the woman has the man by the... (26%)
- Yup! It's the man that asks the woman to marry her. He chooses his mate ultimately. (14%)
Thanks for voting.

MEN give their representative to a woman in the beginning of a relationship. MEN are not themselves for at least six months into dating trying to show the best side of themselves to lure the woman in. THEY are the ones workin for the ‘goods’. Many women anymore are afraid of marriage. Roles have changed and I HIGHLY doubt women ‘bob for diamonds’ now like perhaps they did in the 50′s or 60′s. Get with the program man! Many women can buy their own diamonds…. and do
I think it goes both ways. Yes, women may say “No, I’d really rather go to the beach and stay at The Hyatt and admit “I really hate camping”. But, I would also say that after the marriage, men also change their attitudes about what movie they will see or parties and family get togethers that were attended while dating. After 21 collective years (16 yrs of marriage) I can honestly say that BOTH men AND women audition. AND anyone who defines their relationship with “A BOSS” is probably not on steady ground for the long haul.
Yes, I think women audition for men! Specially here in the Texas southern border. Women from Mexico are extremely nice to the U.S. citizen men so they can get their resident alien card!!!
