Rich’s got a craving for some ice cream (or “treats” as he would call it), and would normally get something he could share with his girlfriend. He specifically wanted Cherry Garcia ice cream, so he got some. When Rich got home his girlfriend asked him why he would buy that flavor knowing she didn’t like it. Rich, of course, played it off as if he thought she liked Cherry Garcia, when in reality he knew the entire time that she didn’t like that flavor. In reality he was the one that wanted it.
Stanley T says he can’t pull that with his wife because she’ll know right away that he’s really doing it for himself. However, he did pull it off with his kids. They wanted a video game system for the house and Stan wanted a Blu Ray player. He bought a PlayStation 3, which covers both needs, and there was no need to explain to the wife why there was a new expensive Blu Ray player in the house. Have you ever gotten something for someone because you secretly wanted it, regardless if they liked it or not?

I bought my hubby a huge LCD TV last Christmas… I knew he wanted it, but I wanted it too!
No… I’ve never done this, meaning I’ve never tried to secret buy something using the excuse that it’s for someone else. If I want something I buy it for myself.
In Rich’s situation, I would have just bought two containers of ice cream – the flavor I wanted and then whatever my boyfriend wanted.
I have purchased a few things for people that I wanted but now I can’t buy anything bwcause i am unemployed so I can’t buy anything.I just buy seperate things if others want what I have.
