People, Like Nicole, Think Bringing Their Dog Around Is A Treat. But It’s Not.

Nicole loves her dog Phoebe, we know this. She brings her dog by work to visit sometimes and this past weekend, she even brought her along to the wedding she went to this past weekend. Now, Rich admits that Phoebe is a very cute and well behaved dog. But when Nicole, and other women & men who have little dogs, bring them around, they think it’s a treat for other people.

Nicole says everyone loves Phoebe and when she brought her to the wedding this past weekend everyone was excited. And when she brings her to work everyone always wants to play with her and hold her. Stan tells her that actually, the guys don’t like it when she brings Phoebe to the studio.

Ryan backs Stan up. It’s not that they don’t like the dog, they love her. They just don’t like her in the studio. They’re trying to do the show and pay attention and instead all they can think about is accidentally stepping on the dog as she runs around the studio.

Nicole can’t believe that the guys are saying this. She’s really upset that they feel this way about her little Phoebe. Rich tells her it’s not that they don’t love Phoebe, but when people bring they’re dog somewhere, other people are automatically going to say that the dog is cute.

Just like you’re never going to say a baby’s ugly or a bride looks horrible at their wedding, no ones going to tell Nicole that they don’t like having her dog at work.

What do you think about the whole concept that people believe bringing their dog around is a treat?

I happen to have my dog with me at work right now…i love her and i dont like her to stay home alone.

  2. Cortney says:

I also dont think its a treat for anyone but her and me. Paisley, the dog, loves her mom and she has to stay in a pin when she is home alone and if i can keep her from that then i will.

I love love love my dog but I would NEVER bring her to work. I totally agree that it is annoying when people act like bringing their dog along is a treat! I had a co-worker who constantly talked about bringing her dog to work like it would be a big deal for us. It is an office – animals do NOT belong there! And yes animals are like family but their family not ours!

I work for Hospice and we have dogs all the time at our office, we take them out to see our patients and it really brightens there days. Many of the people I see are very sick and the dog makes them perk up and offen feel better. So I think dogs are a treat. Every in a regular office setting.

Animals are great to have around, when you WANT them around but not unexpectedly. But I am SURE the bride was not pleased to have a super cute Phoebe stealing her thunder.

    Grammar fail. It’s “their”, not they’re ;)

I used to work in an office where we had a pet cat-she lived there 24/7. She lightened the mood for all the employees & the customers who came in. Cats & dogs are MUCH better than someone bringing their screaming baby in!

  8. Awwww! I have two SHIH TZU’s and they are just so cute!! I call them my kids! Brie and Chico! Love them when they are groomed!!

  9. Stephanie says:

Ew Ew Ew! I’m definitely not a fan! I don’t want to be slobbered on, licked, jumped on, or scratched by your four legged fur ball! No Thanks!

I have a fear of animals so I’m not a fan of when people bring their pets in. When you work in an office, it’s supposed to be pet free, so I don’t think it’s fair when people bring in pets because not everyone likes it.

OMG! If I brought my dog to work the place would be leveled! LOL Everyone would hate me.

I work is a doctors office, and the doctor bought his wife a dog for X-mas one year and before he gave him to her he stayed at the office with us and everyone loved him. That was a year ago and people still come in and ask for him,

I hate 2 side with the guys Nicole but I think pets should not go 2 work with their owners. I work in the medical field & its unsanitary 2 have pets in places of business.

I love dogs, but pets @ the work place is not a good idea. Some people have alergies & in some cities by law you can not have dogs or cats at work (specially if you work for a government agency) So, as much as I love dogs, Nicole, please have consideration for those co-workers that probably are not happy having ur dog @ work! Phoebe is ur enjoyment not everyone elses.

Well there are certainly a lot of opinions on the subject. I see some for pets – some against – everyone is clearly on one side or the other.

I think the general rule of thumb should be that if you’re doing something that people find offensive, and they ask you to stop doing it – just stop doing it. Phoebe will still be cute (just not at work) – and nobody will be annoyed or offended! Win/Win :)

Nicole needs to get a clue (and most of the time she needs to chill out a bit). She thinks it’s completely wrong to wear sunglasses indoors or that having a buffet at a wedding is tacky but that it’s OK to bring your dog to your place of business even though it’s a pain (or possibly scary) for your colleagues.

My sister’s boss takes her dog into work to spite the fact that there is a woman there who is terrified of dogs there and the female dog (in every sense of the word) has been known to attack people who walk in the door (me included).

The only animals that should be in a place of business are service animals…and for those who say that animals are family…I fully agree but you shouldn’t take your child to work either.

Just for the record…I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE animails but would never be so bold and ignorant as to take mine to work.

I agree I love pets 2 bra but I got enough respect for ppl 2 not bring any pet 2 work

i love dogs but you should not ever take a dog to work. you don’t walk into wal mart and see dogs running around. they should stay at home

  19. I hope Phoebe pisses on Rich’s leg,and bites Stanley and Ryan. Go Nicole, I think your a great Mom.

I have a little 5 year old shih tzu named Gracie and every time we go some where even if we werent going to take her Gracie ends up going because she loves to go places with us, she even rides the motorcycle with my mom because shes loved bike rides sence she was really little. But we dont take her places because its a treat its because shes a member of our family and as such we dont want to leave her by herself all the time.

Rich said that people are automatically going to say that Pheobe is cute but that isnt 100% true. I have a couple friends that when they see Gracie they say that shes ugly and sometimes scroungy. Most people do see her and want to walk up and pet her and hold her but there are the few that that dont and would much rather not have anything to do with her. Which ever is fine with me.

As I said, Gracie is a part of my family and not a treat for anyone. If I want to take her some where then its because I want to spend time with her and i dont want her to be alone or by herself. Nicole probly thinks the same with Pheobe and shouldnt be patronized for being a good mother to her child.
