Before Rich went on vacation, he decided to get his hair cut. So he drove to the salon, parked his car, and went in. When he came out, he had forgotten he drove there and instead of getting back in his car, he walked home. Rich uses public transportation to get to and from work so he didn’t need his car until a couple days later.
When he went down to the parking garage to get it and didn’t see he thought, “Oh no, did someone steal my car?!” He called the garage security to see if they saw anything and he called the dealership to see if there was any way they could track the car. Then he retraced his steps and remembered that he drove to get his hair cut but never drove back.
Rich walked back to the salon and there was his car, with about ten parking tickets on it. He felt like such an idiot. It was definitely a “special” moment on Rich’s part. When have you done something and thought, “Oh dear, that was a special moment?”

Hi I wanted to tell you about my special moment. I thought my baby was stolen from my car. In the morning when I had to get gas I would stop before I dropped my baby off at daycare. This day I dropped my baby off first and went to get gas. I locked my car door, ran into the gas station pay, hurried back to the car because I thought my baby was in the car. Well, when I didn’t see my baby I dropped to my knees crying thinking my baby was stolen. The lady pumping her gas next to me started crying. Someone called the police. They showed up searched the car and started to take a report. In the middle of everything I said hold up I remember where my baby is!!! I told them I dropped her off before I got gas and they made me call daycare to make sure she was there. At the time it wasn’t funny I really thought she was taken but it’s really funny now. I still get teased from my friends and this happened 15 years ago.
I had a similar experience as Rich. Same thing but bicycles instead. I lived not far from school, about 20 blocks, so I either walked or rode my bike. Well I had 2 bikes (one new one old) and I thought my old bike had been stolen. One day leaving school late, I got to the bike rack and of course it was empty, and down at the far end was my old bike, locked up, with my missing lock! lol
Out of town meeting, got drunk with friend who passed out naked when he got back to his room. Next morning he comes down to breakfast, said he woke up and thought he’d pooped in his bed he was so drunk. Panicked. Stripped all the sheets, stuffed them into his luggage and put $100 in the middle of the bed. Then he noticed the little wrappers. He’d passed out in the middle of the mints on his pillow, melted them across the bed.
My husband had 2…he swore up and down his phone was stolen at work. He made such a big deal about it, and even went so far as to have his number put on another phone. I found it when the alarm went off…it was in the cell phone pocket of his backpack.
The other time happened right after he got his new car. It has a push button start. Well, he … Read Moregot in after working a midnight shift, pushed “Power” and nothing. He was really starting to get upset that his brand new car wouldn’t start…when he realized he was hitting the Power to the Stereo, not to the ignition
