Novelty Dressing For Holiday’s: Lame Or Festive?

Novelty Dressing, Is It Ok?

On their way into work today, Rich, Stan, Nicole and Ryan saw some guy walking along the streets of New York City sporting a tie with American flags on it. Ok people, we get it, it’s the 4th of July and you want to show your patriotic side, but an American flag tie? Really? That’s just as bad as when people wear 2D sweaters with reindeer, Santa, and Nativity scenes all over them for Christmas. How about shirts with giant pumpkins, ghosts, and goblins for Halloween?

Novelty dressing for holidays is just plain lame. If you want to wear the colors of that holiday, fine. However, there is no need to wear characters and prints of that holiday. It’s corny an unnecessary. That just us though. Are we being a bit harsh, or do you agree that novelty dressing is lame? Do you ever novelty dress for the holidays? It’s ok, you can admit it to us…

Novelty dressing has to be one of the greatest holiday activities around. Put on the ugliest American flag attire (I’ve heard that Thrift Stores are a Gold Mine!) that you have, and grab your favorite beverage and enjoy! Everyone is gonna be jealous and you’ll be the life of the party. So cheers to the gentleman sporting that ugly ass tie this morning and I’ll be joining you at about 3:30!!! Love the show guys, Keep on Rockin my morning!

  2. Yes, it is okay to novelty dress. Sometimes it is creative and cute, others can go the extreme. However, love to dress up in Christmas colors. Love your morning show!!! Listen to u guys all day.

Depends. Sure, doesnt hurt to throw on a little blue around the 4th of July. But if you’re wearing your grandmother’s come Christmas time, thats a little excessive. As long you’re able to keep it somewhat fashionable, go for it.

Dressing up for the holidays is just tradition. It makes it all a little more special. Sure ya may look dumb for a day or so, but atleast ya showed some spirit for the holiday!!

I like buying the kids tshirts that have something cute on them… my youngest had a ‘Canadian Cutie’ shirt on yesterday. My 10 year old, however, did not have one, and probably won’t ever again. LOL! I just make sure I try and wear something red, I had a red tshirt on yesterday… But nothing too extreme for sure, that’s just not me. On kids, sure, to a degree. But not for adults.

It’s fun to show your spirit for a holiday! Esp. when we don’t get to have parties like we did in school, remember those Xmas parties or handing out valentines!? Let loose and get in the spirit!

Dressing up for the holidays? If it’s something that is tasteful and inconspicuous. As an example, I have a polo style shirt that is primarily blue with 3 small stripes and 3 small stars representing the American flag. it’s “quiet” vs. a “loud” shirt that proclaims patriotism. Like anything, it can go too far. but celebrating in an understated way is cool.

I think it is fun to dress up for the holidays! I work at a nursing facility, and most of the residents get a kick out of it! Its all in fun… Besides, the 4th of July is to Celebrate Patriotism! Red, white & Blue all the way!!!

Seriously, it’s the only legit time you can get away with dressing like an idiot. I won’t go hardcore and due the Napoleon Dynamite MC Hammer American Flag pants; but, I would not want a roundhouse kick to the face in those bad boys and … I can’t hate on the person who does wear them. As far as I know they’re a normal person who found the perfect excuse to look like a jackass for the day. St. Patty’s Day this year was my day to rock a Lucky Charms shirt, green warm up jacket, mardi gras beads, green sunglasses and a beanie. I know plenty of people who host “Ugly Christmas Sweater Parties” and I think that it’s a great idea as well. In a society where people are judged all the time on their outward appearances what’s wrong with having an excuse a few times a year to let loose and dress silly.

for men yes i think it is super lame… wanna wear sumpin patriotic get a small flag pin on your NORMAL tie… but when it comes to chicks they can easily pull of the “sexy” american flag bikini like your picture shows… but i would say that’s prob the only thing that is super lame… it’s fine to do it.. juss don’t OVER do it people! you don’t have to look at you.. WE DO!

  12. LaManda says:

sorry i meant the bikini is the only thing that ISN’T super lame…
