Faking Interest In Something For Your Significant Other?

Katie Holmes

Everyone has a certain palace or thing to do that they absolutely love. Whether it’s a restaurant, park, store, game or movie you probably feel compelled to share that thing way to often. This past weekend Rich was visiting his girlfriend in Texas and she took him to this bakery that she is obsessed with. She’s always talking about it and has always wanted to bring him, telling him she’s sure he’s going to love it too. Well, they finally got to go and though Rich liked it, he didn’t love it as much as she did. His girlfriend had been so excited to bring him that he didn’t want to disappoint her so he pretended to love it. Have you ever had to “fake the funk” in order to not disappoint someone? Has a friend, family member, or your significant other ever been so excited for you to try something, whether it be food or a specific activity, that you pretended to love it more than you really did, just because they were so excited about it?

My significant other plays poker and to be honest with you, I can not stand it. What can be more boring then sitting quietly at a table for hours looking at cards trying not to make any facial expressions? I tolerate his poker playing because he tolerates going to ice rinks with me to watch me practice figure skating. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t enjoy freezing his butt off just as I don’t enjoy sitting in a smoke filled casino. Sometimes, you have to make sacrifices for each other.

My wife loves going to the Opera. I would rather have a root canal. Enough said.
