Rich Davis decided to do something that most people probably don’t do, and that’s be adventurous with the kind of toothpaste he uses. There are so many choices, most of which we really can’t tell the difference between. Rich decided to try several different kinds, and with bad results. So he wants to know, what kind of toothpaste do you use and why? Do you ever try different ones? Do you go on what Rich calls “toothpaste adventures?” Is it something that just isn’t done?

I miss the original Crest flavor that they had when I was a kid a long, long time ago. Can’t find it. I am tired of the taste of toothpasts as well. Rich, you are not crazy!!!! Not about toothpaste anyway..
My rule of thumb: Buy the cheapest name brand!
I do it every time and they have never been gross or bad-tasting, just cheap!
Listerine Gel Powerful Mint is the BEST!
You need to try aquafresh empowermint!!! it gives you that good burn that makes your mouth feel super clean…and if you are not using a battery powered toothbrush, you neeeeeed to!
use this combo and your mouth will feel amazing and you can stop trying a million different kinds!
I’ll use whatever matches my toothbrush at the time, but I’m old school, Original, right now its Colgate.
I use sensodyne because I have sensitive teeth and it helps with that somewhat. Colgate and crest aren’t bad, but personally, I prefer a paste to a gel any day of the week.
It is really hard to find, but in Greece, SEA SALT toothpaste is all the rage. They even have it at the Discotheques…
I cannot stand cinnamon because i think it makes your breath smell like “butt”. I love the taste of cinnamon flavored things but do not like what it does to your breath. I like the baking soda and peroxide kind because it isnt so sweet.
My wife is so obbsessed with her toothpaste, she searched the internet for a certain flavor (vanilla) when it was no longer available at the store and bought 24 tubes of it on the internet. Then she doesn’t even let me use it..I still have to go get my own.

I wanted to try a different flavor and I love cinnamon but in toothpaste it was the WORST!! It tased nothing like cinnamon. On the box and tube they ask for your comments……..let me tell you – I told them what I thought of it.
They sent me a coupon for a free tube of my flavor choice which sure wasn’t that #@*&^% flavor they called cinnamon.
I do the same thing with trying new flavors. My new favorite is aquafresh extreme clean- freshening action. Its very minty.
i never no what kind to get untill they came out with the vanilla mint from crest its got the mint flavor everyone likes but yet a hint of vanilla for a little something different.

Crest whitening with peppermint Scope. Love it. Have to have it. My husband uses that nasty cinnamon stuff. It doesn’t make his breath smell bad. I just don’t like it. I’ve tried some of the new flavors, but I always go back to “old faithful”.
it has to be a minty flavour for sure! I prefer the “paste” to the “gel” and usually opt for Colgate however whatever is on sale also works for me.

Crest Pro Health (Clean Mint). Why mess around?
As a general dentist, I would not mess around the foreign stuff…probably does not contain fluoride, which helps fight cavities, and may even have sugar in it – ex: honey flavored tooth paste – really??? Almost all of the Crest and Colgate stuff is going to be fine for basic everyday toothpaste. You can also check out Tanner’s Tasty Paste online. They have chocolate, vanilla, and orange sickle flavors. Kids love it and it is just fine for adults. So my opinion is find something that you like or ask your dentist for a recommendation. I use Crest Pro Health Whitening. It isnt going to make your teeth whiter but it will help stains from forming if you drink a lot of coffee, tea, or wine.
Rich, I love, love, LOVE Crest Vanilla Mint. I actually prefer it. Yes I have had toothpaste adventures. Many. You’re definitely not alone
But orange or cinnamon…no. Just…no. Love you guys!
I like to try a new one everytime i buy toothepaste, so far my husband’s favorite is Crest cinnamon, I don’t have one yet
