Rich, Nicole, Ryan, and Stan try their best to coordinate before the show every morning. They all usually get in a minute before or after each other, with enough time to prepare before they have to start the show. Each of them have their morning routine, whether it’s Ryan making his oatmeal, Stan and Rich getting their coffee or Nicole eating her Kashi cereal (she likes to stay regular).
Rich and Ryan think that if deviating your morning routine throws off your day then that makes it ok to be a few minutes late for work to salvage that day. Nicole and Stan think it’s irresponsible to be 5 minutes late for work because you “have to have your morning cup of coffee,” especially if you don’t call and give a heads up. Of course, Rich has been guilty of this before.
Do you agree with Rich and Ryan, and that your day must be right. even at the cost of being minutes late? Do Nicole and Stan have the right idea and that it’s your own fault that your late to work and you have to give up that cup of coffee in order to be as on time as possible?
You're Running A Few Minutes Late For Work, What Do You Do?
- I'm sucking it up and sacrificing my morning routine. I won't get my coffee (or whatever your thing is) in order to make it to work as on time as possible. (51%)
- A few minute late or not I'm getting my morning routine on. I'm walking in that door with my cup of coffee and muffin or bagel. I'm not letting my entire day be ruined for 5 minutes. (30%)
- I'll be late by a few mintues and get my coffee and morning routine on, BUT I'll make sure I bring stuff for everyone else (donuts or bagels...ect). (19%)

You guys aren’t looking at this from the right perspective…what if someone needed breakfast/coffee not because they would feel “off” about starting their day, but instead they needed it to actually *start* their day. Some people cannot get up and get going without eating breakfast and having a cup of coffee, therefore making them feel bad about needing their ‘day-starter’ seems silly. I don’t usually do this, but it wouldn’t bother me if someone else brought in breakfast. In my opinion, it’s better that they grab breakfast from a drive-through taking 2 minutes rather than being 10 minutes late when they stay at home to actually eat; or have them be the worst cranky person without coffee and a bagel for the morning, when you have to deal with them closely at work.
