Do You And Your Significant Other Have To Have The Same Taste In Music And Movies?

knockeduppic21

Nicole and her boyfriend were out eating sushi in a very cramped restaurant and were seated next to a blind date. BUT, not only was it a blind date, it was also a first date. Needless to say it was quite awkward, or as The Morning Mash Up would say: “bathos.” That blind first date turned into live entertainment for Nicole and her man. They didn’t talk the entire time they ate just listening to the awkwardness transpire. This made us wonder if you could really be with someone who has totally opposite tastes. Isn’t there a potential for arguments all the time? Who decides what station on SIRIUS XM to listen to in the car? What movie do you go to on the weekend? If you don’t have any similar tastes in music or movies does this make the conversation difficult? Shed some light onto our situation in the comments area below! :)

I definitely agree with Nicole… like she said… sometimes the other persons interest can get you into something different. I have lived my entire life dating guys that were totally opposite from me because it makes it exciting… who wants to be with someone exactly like yourself…???? Yes, it helps to have something in common.. but your differences give you something to talk about…

I dated someone for a year and a half with completely opposite tastes in everything from food to music to television. Let’s just say if I hear another country song, eat thai food or watch Charmed one more time, it’ll be the end of me. How I went through a year and a half of that, I’ll never know. …oh right, the fooling around.

I think that the blind first daters new they were being listened too and made a show out of it. Thats what I would do. I prefer having a lot in common with my dates, otherwise you have to spend most of time doing things you don’t like.
