The Ron Howard and Tom Hanks flick Angels & Demons made an estimated $48 million this weekend. While second place isn’t exactly a preference, the fact that Star Trek still made an estimated $43 million is good considering that is only about $30 million less than it’s opening weekend last week. Meaning, the word of mouth on this movie is strong, and people are going back to see it a second time. I did. While Angels & Demons didn’t make as much as The Da Vinci Code did it’s opening weekend, world wide it made over an estimated $150 million, covering it’s costs. Everything it makes from now on is bank. However, Stanley T’s prediction of Star Trek making more than X-Men Origins: Wolverine has almost come true. While in the United States Wolverine has made over $151 million, Star Trek has made over $147 million (in a weeks less time than Wolverine). However, over sea’s Wolverine is a bigger hit than Star Trek (Wolverine made over $123 million, while Star Trek only made over $49 million). For some reason Star Trek is more a part of American culture than other sci-fi franchises like Star Wars and Terminator. Either way, we think Angels & Demons will sink after this weekend. However, we haven’t seen Angels & Demons yet, have you guys? What did you think, should we go? Plus, is it as good as the book? A lot of people complained that The Da Vinci Code book was way better than the movie. Give us your thoughts!
