A Day Without Social Networking

Having trouble with your Facebook and Twitter Today?

It’s Thursday and you’re just trying to Twitter about Paula Abdul or update your Facebook status. Having some trouble? It’s not just you.

As MoreMashUp.com’s resident webmaster, I felt it only necessary to explain the day we’ll call “The Day Without Social Networking.” Twitter and Facebook are being attacked by something called “DoS attacks.” In simple terms, imagine thousands of people hitting refresh over and over again on their keyboards on each websites, not allowing you to load the pages.

So, before blaming the I.T. guy at your job or thinking that your boss caught you updating your status too much — it’s not just you, it’s everyone.

So, without Twitter or Facebook, have you figured out you’re addicted to social networking? Let us know in the comments area below!

Too funny. This morning tried to get on twitter and that’s exactly what I had thought had happened (It was suddenly being blocked in the office because of overuse in the building) and literally told a friend, “Well, I might as well delete that account when I get home.”

I really hate to sound negative, but anyone who felt disconnected when Twitter and Facebook went down should seek professional help. You should not be feeling like your life is unstable because you can’t post to the world what you are currently doing in 140 characters. I have never gotten into Twitter, and I probably never will. The compulsory disorder of having to update Facebook and Twitter is just disturbing. You people are the reason why we are getting laws that ban driving while texting. Get offline and go have some real conversations with people. Sheesh.

Hmm I think like with anything there needs to be a balance. Yeah it’s fun to update and see what’s goin on in the world but yeah go talk to people and have a conversation. Don’t let the web rule your life.
