This weekend Amy Adams has a new movie called Leap Year, where she wants to propose to her boyfriend. As soon as Rich Davis heard about this he thought it was preposterous! He doesn’t disagree with it from a perspective that women shouldn’t have the right to, he just thinks it’s a tradition that should be kept as is. It also comes off strange. It can make the man look like a chump, and the woman look desperate.
Ladies, would you EVER propose to your man? Have you? Guys, would you ever let a woman propose to you, or even accept?

no way! How would he explain that to his friends? He would never be able to live it down, and would he hold a grudge against her? I don’t know as I’ve not met any women who’s ever proposed, or any man who has acceppted. I just feel it would take something away from your man, plus haven’t you ever seen…. “He’s just not that into you”?
I guess I’m a romantic in that I wanted a guy to propose to me. To me it showed that he wanted me so much that he had to marry me to make me his. Yeah, I’m a sucker for romance, I know!
Keep it traditional! I’d be a little weirded out if Dana (the lady friend) proposed to me.
I think that times have changed enough that if a woman wants to propose to a man she should be able to, but that people with old traditions still have the right to keep them. I personally wouldn’t have proposed to my husband, but I don’t think it’s wrong if a woman wants to be the instigator in the engagement.
I proposed to my bf a few years ago on Feb 14. Crash and Burn! Let the guy do it!
