Know Someone Who Over Panics?

Yesterday was a bad snow day for a lot of the East Coast. However, doing a national radio show, you don’t get a snow day. Stanley T, wanting to make sure he got to the show on time, left an hour earlier than usual. Because of this, Rich thinks Stan is an over-panicker. When they got up for the show Thursday, there was barely any snow on the ground and no train delays. There was no need to leave that early.

Stan says he left early as a precaution and because he didn’t want to deal with the drama of possibly being late. However, Stan also left early yesterday afternoon, after the show. Since Rich and Stan are part-time roommates, Stan usually waits for Rich to get out of his afternoon show and goes home with him. Not yesterday. Rich thinks Stan is ridiculous with the way he panics. Things are never as bad as he thinks they’re going to be.

Rich’s dad is like this too. For Thanksgiving he had Rich and himself leave at 9am to get somewhere by 3pm, the catch is that the destination was only a half hour away. They got there and Rich’s step sister-in-law and her husband were barely out of their pajamas and they all ended up having breakfast together. Talk about awkward.

What about people who need to get to the airport 3 hours early? That is a bit of over-panicking. Unless you like hanging out in the airport there’s no need to get there that early. It will not take you that long to check your bags and go through security. Do you know someone that over panics – whether it’s about traffic, airports, the weather?

Its good to take precautions and when other people turn to you for help when something happens, they’ll be the ones feeling like idiots.

Stan’s level of cautiousness is commendable I think. Rich’s Dad? I don’t know about that one. If you have the ability to be cautious, then I don’t see why not. You cannot foresee the future, but you can control what happens right NOW. Ounce of prevention…

An hour early is a little too much. Everyone would have understood if you were late, and the roads were bad.

My Dad over panics about EVERYTHING. Whenever he is eating, I leave the room because I know he will spill on himself and start having an aneurism over it. Whenever he is doing a project around the house, like fixing pipes or something, I am SURE to leave because I hate listening to him repeat ” SON OF A B*$%*…JUDAS PREIST!!!”

Stanley, man don’t take no crap from those guys. Better to be early than late. And as far as the canned goods go, I bet they won’t be laughing when they have to come to you to get a little grub because the store ran out. Who will be laughing then, NOT them!
